Sembawang Hot Spring

I first came to know about hot spring in Singapore through a television show on Channel 8. That was roughly ten years ago, I could not really recall. The hot spring area used to be on a piece of open land covered with sand unlike the current one which had been rebuilt with concrete base. The well where you get hot spring water was also sort of sealed up by a little red brick house. You could feel the heat when you go near it, and the only way to get to the spring water is from standpipes which is open to the public now.

There is no car park nearby as it is just next to Chong Pang Camp. The nearest one would be at HDB Blk 114 at Yishun (kindly double check on the nearest Blk on Google Map again). Then you may cross the road, and walk for about 15 minutes before reaching into a small enclosed area. Sembawang Hot Spring is open from 7am to 7pm daily.

The entrance!

There were not much crowds when we went yesterday, and lucky for us, weather was good. We brought some eggs to cook, and own plastic basin (there are pails available for public though) for soaking our feet in the spring water. Super excited as we could only do this in Taiwan, and Korea. I'm still thinking if I should head to Japan some day or not.

Spring water is scorching hot!
Hubby performing spring water tarik as it is way too hot..
Baby's first mini onsen!
Water temperature is finally warm enough for us..
I was expecting to have hard boiled eggs..
Thanks to an old Uncle who takes great care on the cleanliness of this place. Without him, we would be soaking our feet in heaps of leaves, and some other rubbishes.

Thank you Uncle!
Can you spot the well?
