Due to the recent Changi Airport re-opening (after it closed for three months), Terminal 3 carpark 3A & 3B is having free parking daily from 1 Sep 2021 till 10 Oct 2021. We see this as a good chance to explore Changi Airport for a bit as we have not been to Canopy Park and Changi Experience Studio.
From Terminal 3, we took a Sky Train to Terminal 1 and crossed over to Jewel Changi. We realised after a while that link bridge via T3 & Jewel was already opened to public. Kind of sad to see such an empty airport when it used to be way crowded.
We bought bundle package 4 at SGD71 per adult and SGD 50 per child/senior which includes:
- Changi Experience Studio
- Canopy Park (Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls, Petal Garden & Topiary Walk)
- Canopy Bridge
- Hedge Maze
- Mirror Maze
- Manulife Sky Nets (Walking & Bouncing)
We started with Canopy Park but I guess Ethan is such a big boy now that the slides and all did not really attract him like when he was much younger.
Discovery Slides has the best view of HSBC Rain Vortex. Not even Canopy Bridge could beat this spectacular angle.
Next we went for Manulife Sky Nets starting with walking and then bouncing. Note that covered shoes are required for both activities but you could rent (I think) some shoes if you want. The walking part was okay but as I had acrophobia, I trembled and sweat a lot when I saw the mall below my feet. Bouncing was fun though since there was no mall beneath me. Lol!
We were too tired from bouncing and stopped for lunch at Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles. We ordered the Shio Soba, Crab Soba and grilled Wagyu beef steak. The noodles were extremely QQ.
We checked out on Hedge Maze and Mirror Maze. Always start with the easier Hedge Maze first then follow by Mirror Maze. The former was completed in less than 10 minutes while the latter took quite some time as we were stucked wandering round and round. Note that pool noodles are provided for you to find your way in case you bump into the mirrors. Yes, they are that confusing and real.
A quick stop at Canopy Bridge before we visit Changi Experience Studio.
You will spend at least 1.5 hours at Changi Experience Studio. When I read those blogs about CES, I was like..well there are nothing much and I think we should probably end everything in 15 minutes? Ohh I was terribly wrong as there were many fun games for everyone. You just don't want to leave!
The Journey cards to accompany you throughout when you experience all those games. Try out some first before entering by putting your cards on top of the tables and some cool visual effects would appear.
Time tunnel showing how Changi Airport started.
The cycling game that made our legs sore! You can just play by moving your hands as well.
Sky Deck where you find out some facts of every country in the world.
The smiling game which rates who has the best smile.
Some photo-taking with Changi Airport's background.
Next there were steering of trolleys, getting passengers to board taxis, pointing out the correct prohibited items, catching nectar for butterfly and making music in glow-in-the-dark forest.
I forgot to take pictures of another four more games on top of a table. They were about clearing the aeroplanes, tracing fingerprints, checking in luggages and moving luggages to the correct lane. Remember to watch this 5 minutes show about how Changi Airport was built before you leave.
Our coffee break at Mellower Coffee before we moved on to Travel Themed Exhibitions. Mellower's Flat White is the best I have ever had. Its coffee is smooth and not bitter at all unlike some cafes I have been to.
I'm actually a tea drinker and I only drink their coffee. By the way, Chye Seng Huat, Alchemist, Kith and Arabica %'s coffees are pretty good too.
While waiting, Ethan wanted to ride these kiddo rides for toddlers..
Travel Themed Exhibitions at Terminal 3 (Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, London, Sweden) & Terminal 1 (China). South Korea is LOVE because of their K-dramas!
HSBC Rain Vortex at night is quite beautiful too.
Our loots of the day macam like tourists. The insect repellent stickers were a gift though from Changi Airport. I forgot where I got them.
Initially wanted to dine at Beauty in the Pot, but must wait for 1.5hours as I did not make any reservation. So ate at Shang Social instead. The food were okay not too bad. Do try out their triple mini bowls of noodles with different sauces.
