Lost World of Tambun

I came to know about Lost World of Tambun from an in-flight magazine on Tiger Air when we were travelling to Taiwan last October. I told myself right then that we will definitely be doing a road trip to Ipoh one day. So thanks to my hubby for driving 6 hours from Singapore to LWOT.

The journey to Ipoh town is about half an hour without traffic jam. Ipoh town is relatively small, and easy to cover within a day. We stopped by Nam Heong for its famous egg tart, and white coffee. This is the original old town white coffee. Do remember to try out Lim Fong fried kway teow. Hubby ordered a second plate as the kway teow was too delicious with a slight satay sauce taste. Thanks Kim for dropping by since she was also back to her hometown during CNY.

We stayed at Lost World Hotel which is directly opposite of LWOT. Note that there is no in-room dining service, but you may visit Papa Rich Cafe next to the hotel. Giant supermarket was a 5 minutes drive away, and you have two more choices for meals (Pizza Hut or Merrybrown Fried Chicken) if you are simply too lazy to drive to town especially after a long day at LWOT.

We were upgraded from Deluxe to Executive Suite. No, it is not like your Presidential Suite or anything, but the room was pretty huge. All the staffs were super friendly and warm, greeting and smiling each time you passed by them.

Our dinner was at Lou Wong Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice Shop. In fact, there are several other Bean Sprouts Chicken stall like Low Leong, On Kee etc.. We just tried Lou Wong since our friend wanted to eat there. The bean sprouts aka tauge were so crunchy, and the chicken soaked in soya sauce was too good. Do order Kampung chicken (village chicken) if available. One thing though, you need to wait for quite a while for a seat.

Do drop by Yee Thye for some souvenirs back. Ipoh is famous for chicken biscuits, heong peah (frangrance biscuits), and shat kek ma (sugar coated egg biscuits).

We spent the second day at LWOT, and there are 10% off entrance tickets for hotel guests. You can totally cover LWOT within a half a day, then back to its hot springs at night which opens from 6pm to 11pm. Our room rates come with free entrance tickets to hot springs. Note that you will have to bring your own towels.

A mini Ipoh Street, try out soft and silky bean curd & herbal tea eggs

A small theme park with a few rides which you could cover within an hour.

We were more interested in petting zoo where you get close to farm animals, and get to know other wild animals.

An instagram worthy pic, think should be the most taken pic in LWOT

Beautiful white peacock
Put some bird feeds onto your palm, and these fluffy little birds will fly to you in seconds. But be careful, they might accidentally pecked too hard.

I personally prefer the hottest spring of 43 degrees celcius, they have ranging from 37 to 43. There is also a steam cave where you are only allowed to stay inside for 2 minutes. Sorry for the poor resolution.
