Jeju Island : Yongdu-am (Dragon Head Rock)
This is a large rock with dragon's head formation. There are other rocks scattered around the deep blue sea. I'm like frog in a well as I have never seen such clear ocean before.
Jeju Island's Earth Gods |
It feels like you have just travelled the world with different wonders like Pyramids, Eiffel Tower etc.. I appreciate the effort put in to build each of the monument. I will definitely explore all these great places some day.
Leaning Tower of Pisa |
Statue of Liberty |
Turtle Ship - Koreans used this during war |
Great Wall of China |
Easter Island Protectors |
London Bridge |
Eiffel Tower |
Pyramids |
It was told that when you turned off your car engine when reaching this particular road, the car will slowly move backwards. We tried putting a bottle, and believe me it really rolled uphill!
Seongsan Ilchubong (Sunrise Peak)
It used to be a volcano which erupted long time ago leaving only its crater behind. We took an hour to climb up the peak and down again. The stairs were steep, and I'm breathless upon reaching. The view from top, however, was breathtaking.
Cheonjeyeon Falls
Even the water from waterfalls is clear, just like Korea's ocean. Beware of steep slopes though.
Teddy Bear Museum - Teseum
As per our tour guide, there are four different teddy bear museums in Jeju Island. This is not the one which was stated in our itinerary, we wanted to visit the one which Korean drama "Goong" starred in. It was fun nevertheless hugging these bubbly teddies throughout.
Seoul : Gyeong Bok Gung
http://www.royalpalace.go.kr/html/eng/main/main.jsp
One of the palaces built in Joseon Dynasty, it was restored and moved to Seoul. If I remembered correctly, 80% of the original palace was burnt down during World War. We are only looking at 20% of what remains today.
Net to prevent birds, the colouring was not from paint but flowers' pollen |
Original place where Da Chang Jin cooks |
This is where the President stays, just like Singapore's Istana.
Myeong Dong - Shopping Heaven
Forget about Dong Dae Mun, it is just like Orchard's Paragon. Everything in Myeong Dong costs an average rate of SGD6 from top, skirts to leggings. That was in year 2009 though, maybe it is much more expensive now.
Waffle ice-cream is heavenly! |
Famous Nanta performing! |
Cheong Gye Cheon Stream
Located in front of Dong Dae Mun which stretches all the way in Seoul.
Spotted two ducks swimming there! |
Enjoy the rice cakes from their cafe after visiting to Tteok Museum.
Yongin : Everland Theme Park
http://www.everland.com/web/multi/english/everland/main.html
One of the must visit theme parks in South Korea. The roller coaster ride was awesome according to hubby.
Offspring of Lion, and Tiger - Liger |
Pyeong Chang : Elf Pension
http://www.elfpension.com/en/
Please stay for a night at this castle-like resort. It is located halfway of a hill at Pyeong Chang, and we were freezing by the time we reached. It is more like a chalet whereby you get to barbeque and chill around. The resort owner's homemade rice cake & pork dumplings were the best ever!
Gang Neung : Warship & Submarine
I must stress again on the deep blue sea, South Korea certainly has a beautiful ocean.
Yang Yang : Seoraksan National Park
I realised that no matter young or old, all Koreans love hiking. You can see the locals travelled all the way there with full gears. There is also a big Buddha located on top of Seoraksan.
We had jet boat ride in Jeju Island as well, the freezing water splashed our faces when the boat turned around. There is also kimchi making as well trying out their traditional costume : Hanbok. Some basic Korean language for Thank you : Kamsahamida, Toilet: Huajuangshi
Below are some of the foods we had, mostly are steamboats, barbeque meats, ginseng chickens.
Pancakes |
Very strong rice wine |
We visited to some farms whereby we get to shave the wool, and feed these cute pigs. They even know how to play water slides. I enjoyed playing this ATV ride as well.
Finally, our loots from Korea especially Ginseng & not to forget their beauty products.
Ginseng powder |
Ginseng tea |
Ginseng wine |
Seaweed |
Koreans' washing powder, can last for 3 years without normal powder |
Lovely cutlery |
